Noon Day Lull

Harold, Skippy, Clarence and Edwardo plant Harold's garden for the coming year. Becoming drowsy in the noonday sun, Skippy's mind wanders to the butterflies flitting about overhead. So soft, so light, "OOOooohhh" yawning, he feels a nap coming on. Edwardo eagerly guzzles a cold cherry cola. He isn't one for getting dirty usually, but Harold asked so nicely and really he could refuse without seeming to be a cultured snot...which Edwardo actually rather is...but we won't tell him that. Meanwhile, impervious to the heat, Harold contentedly waters his new Dragon's Breath Petunias guaranteed to ward of dragons in a 10 mile radius. There hadn't been tell of dragons on Polecat mountain for years but one couldn't be too careful of course. Harold is a very contentious, kind forward thinking aardvark. Truly dragons are a bother as everyone does know. Finally Clarence bringing in the rear, pushes the wheelbarrow back up to the garden. Spurred on through his fatigue at the knowledge that Harold had set aside a big bucket of bugs for him; picked up fresh from the first tilling of the season.

The drone of the bees, the gentle loving pressure of the sun on the back of your neck. The wispy scent of flowering trees and plants playing at your nose. The raucous hungry squawk of the baby robin. This is springtime. Welcome.

Ephesians 2:9-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
